Earth Air Fire Water (age 5-8) are the primal Elements that some of our ancestors believed made up all living things. Throughout the week, campers will interact with each element in an abundance of ways, playing games, exploring, and crafting. One day might be spent climbing to the highest point and pretending to be a bird in a game of Towhee Towhee, and the next building a fire, making charcoal face paint, and hiding in the forest during a game of Eagle Eye. Every day is an adventure and a chance to learn more about the natural world.
Woodland Arts (age 9-14): Building on concepts and ideas introduced in Earth Air Fire Water, older campers will spend time experimenting with nature’s palette of sounds, colors, shapes, and textures. They may work together to create a woodland band, designing instruments from hollow logs and hemlock branches, or fill in a handcrafted nature journal with natural treasures and leaf rubbings using beeswax crayons they made earlier in the week. Other creative projects may include making natural paints and dyes, weaving, sun prints, natural sculpture, pottery, catching a song from the land, and more! Join us and make new friends who also thrive on artistic endeavors.
Camp Intentions:
– Explore myriad ways to use natural materials to make, build, craft, and work together
– Discover the woods with an artistic eye and new perspective
– Self-expression through nature crafts
This is a medium-high focus, lower energy camp week, best suited for campers who enjoy spending quality time making things and exploring their creative side.
Once a program fills, please join the waitlist. We will do our best to open an additional session based on demand. Learn more about scholarships and payment plan options.
