Summer Camp Mentors

Do you love nature? Are you passionate about empowering kids and want to nurture strong, healthy communities? Do you seek an amazing work environment where your teammates feel like family and you are making a difference in the world? Do you set a high bar in your life and conduct yourself with a high degree of character? If you have experience working with natural raw materials, telling stories, singing or playing an instrument, climbing trees, catching frogs, watching birds and experiencing all of this side by side with other naturalists and wide-eyed children, we want to hear from you! We are looking for gifted, vibrant individuals who can work as a team to bring the vision behind Two Coyotes to life.

If you are interested in joining our dynamic team, please email a resume and cover letter to programs@twocoyotes.org. Summer camp sessions run from the end of June through August with mandatory staff training the week before camp begins. We welcome people of all backgrounds.

Robins:  Pre and After Caretakers

Do you know why the robin is one of the first to sing on a summer morning? Singing early takes energy. The early bird sings loudly to announce that they were strong enough to survive the night with its cool temps, predators and lack of food. They are proud and ready to be the first to greet the new day.

We are looking for people to help us extend the hours of our typical summer camp schedule, in order to make our camps accessible to more families. We are looking for a few awesome robins who:

  • love being with children
  • have flexible schedules
  • can keep a group of children safe and occupied
  • have transportation to our summer camp sites in Newtown and Granby
  • are natural leaders
  • have first aid training

Our camp season runs: M-F June 22 through Aug 21.

Pay is $13-15 an hour, based on experience and first aid training

Hours are 7:45-9am and 3pm -4:15pm at either Holcomb Farm in Granby or Sticks and Stones Farm in Newtown.

Responsibilities of the Robin team will be to welcome caregivers and children, sign in/out (checking IDs), check camper’s gear before parent leaves, look over any needed meds or special needs and to entertain the kids from 8am until camp begins at 9 and until parents return for pickup between 3 and 4pm.  Our Camp Director and field staff will also be on-site from 8-4 preparing for and debriefing their day with the children.
