Parent Expectations

In order for your child to have the best experience possible at Two Coyotes, in addition to our youth Expectations, we ask that our parents and caregivers uphold the following Parent Expectations. If you are unable to uphold these agreements, we may have to ask your child to leave program for the day or to take a break from program for a period of time:

1. Your child must have food while attending any of our programs. If a food/lunch is accidentally forgotten or left behind, staff will reach out to coordinate a drop-off so your child can stay nourished throughout the day. In some cases, we may require early pick-up.

2. Two Coyotes is an all-weather, community-based experience where we use our bodies a lot! We ask that you help your children to arrive fed, rested, dressed for the conditions, and healthy enough to participate fully. When a child arrives overtired or unwell (i.e. coughing, sniffling), it impacts their safety, the group’s experience, and the mentors’ ability to support the whole community. In these cases, we may ask for early pick-up or a day of rest at home. Please refer to our policy about returning to program after sustaining an injury.

3. If your child does not bring weather appropriate clothing, we will contact you to drop off the necessary items, and/or may require you to pick your child up early. If we check gear at drop-off and we see that your child does not have the right gear for that day or for the weather conditions, we may ask that you bring them home. Please see page 15 of our Family Handbook for how to dress for cold weather.

4. Children may not be dropped off or picked up without being signed in and out by their caregiver with their child’s mentor.

5. Our programs typically end at 3pm (unless you have registered for Pre/After Care which ends at 4pm). Parents who are late for the designated pick-up time will be charged a $25 late fee for being up to 30 minutes late and $50 for being 30-60 minutes late.

This is not a complete list of our expectations for parents. We may contact you to pick-up your child for reasons beyond what is listed above. If you have questions about anything on this page, please contact Ben at Benjamin@TwoCoyotes.org or Dani at Dani@TwoCoyotes.org.
