This is an advanced course that teaches wilderness survival skills through hands on projects and challenges that put student’s skills to the test. Skills taught may include: making fire from sticks, projects like pottery, basket making, stone tool construction, making bark and wooden bowls, arrow crafting, making advanced shelters, gathering wild plants, and even going on a bullfrog hunt (participation optional). On Thursday evening we have an overnight experience for the campers. They will get a chance to sleep out in a survival shelter they built and test out a variety of skills they have practiced over the course of the week. Those skills could include things like eating dinner out of a wooden bowl they made, or making the camp fire by rubbing sticks together, or eating a feast of wild food they gathered.
